The WTV OATS compliant time validater is a modified version of one of the worlds most popular and reliable electronic time stamps. Since OATS requirements are for time in seconds, the only technology currently available is the electronic time stamp with dot matrix printing. Each impression takes about 400 milliseconds.
The display indicates the date (01-31), day (m-s), standard am/pm hours (1-12), minutes (00-59), machine number and accuracy status. The imprint consists of the year (2005), month (00-12), date (01-31), military hour's (00-23), minutes (00-59) and seconds (00-59) (see sample imprint above). Regulations require the numeric month and military hours. One unique feature of the WTV is its two-way communication capability; it can report its synchronization status back to the B-3 Master's monitoring program.
For security purposes no clock has the ability to be reset on it's own; it must be connected to the B-3 Master Clock and will receive a reset signal within one minute. For security purposes if a clock does not receive a down load for a ten minute period it will automatically flash a non sync message on it's display, the B-3 Master monitor will display that clock's number in red and the timing chip in the individual clock will allow it to work for up to 8 hours then will automatically shut it down. The imprint will display a message designating the time as no sync. Each machine has a specific number needed for communication purposes; this number is technician changeable if a machine has to be substituted
